“I am drawn to paint because I want to capture the beauty found in our natural world and the wisdom of the human spirit. I love expressing the beauty of creation.

Being an artist is learning how to see.

I think people go through life, and really don’t see. An artist can take a tree, an animal or person and their own perception of how they view it can come through their art.Take Monet, for example, he loved the beauty of landscapes, and he tried to capture beauty as he saw it. I love how he explored color and light. He worked so much color into his paintings and you have to sit with them for a while to fully absorb the feeling of it.

I think the world needs more beauty, tenderness and wisdom.”

I paint who and what I admire—that is why I painted Mother Teresa, because I admire her love for humanity and her work of treating people with dignity and care.
